Kenyans living in the United Kingdom have been urged to turn up at the Alexandra Palace in London on Monday, December 22, 2025, to support David Munyua as he features in the World Darts Championship games.

In a statement on Facebook on Sunday, December 21, 2025, Joseph Warui, the deputy head of mission in the UK, implored Kenyans to turn up and rally behind the history-chasing Kenyan.

Munyua is set to face off against Duthman Kevin Doets in the second round of the championship on Monday, after his stunning victory over Mike De Decker in the first round on Thursday, December 18, 2025.

Kenyan spirit

“David Munyua is proudly flying our flag high on the global stage, showcasing true Kenyan spirit at the World Darts Championship. We are calling on all Kenyans in the UK to come out and support him on Monday, 22 December 2025, at 3 pm as he heads into his next match.”

The ambassador has shared being in contact with an upbeat Warui as he prepares for the decisive clash.

“I have spoken to him, and his confidence and energy are incredibly high as he prepares,” Warui said.

Meanwhile, Munyua’s Monday’s opponent in the championship, Kevin Doets, has opened up on the prospect of facing the Kenyan debutant.

In a statement on Saturday, December 20, 2025, Doets admitted to feeling a bit of pressure ahead of the clash with the Kenyan, who will be seeking to go an extra mile in only his first appearance at the elevated stage.

“To be fair, I watched the game live yesterday, him and Mike,” Doets said. “Of course, if I won my game, I was expecting to play Mike in the second round. When David won, it actually gave me a bit of extra pressure.”

Great player

“Of course David is a great player, but in my mind I’m the better player. This is the type of game you want. This is the draw you want in the second round if you want to go further in the tournament.”

Doets vs Munyua

Heading to the clash against the Kenyan, Doets boasts a stronger record and more experience.

The European, ranked 41st in the world, has a strong track record on this stage and reached the last 16 last year.

He, however, will be up against an underdog debutant keen on building more momentum after pulling off one of the biggest upsets in World Darts Championship history, beating the 18th seed, De Decker, after trailing 0–2.

The showdown will kick off at 3:30 pm Kenyan time.
