Football Kenya Federation (FKF) side Gor Mahia has asked interested and qualified candidates to submit applications for the various vacant roles within the club following a purge undertaken recently.

In a statement sent via its media site on Friday, June 4, 2025, Kenya’s most successful club advertised for a number of the positions left vacant following a roll of heads at the club occasioned by the following conclusion of the 2024/25 season, where K’Ogalo ended without clinching a major piece of silverware.

Among the positions advertised is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) post.

The post was left vacant a couple of days ago after the incumbent, Raymond Oruo, parted ways with the club in a major shake-up that also saw the club part ways with its entire technical bench.

“As a CEO you will oversee all strategic, operational, and financial aspects of the club, fostering a winning culture, enhancing brand visibility, and ensuring sustainable growth,” part of the club’s description of the role read.

Advertised roles

In addition, the club has also advertised for the roles of team manager, goalkeeper coach, strength and conditioning coach, and team doctor.

According to the club, prospective candidates can submit their cover letter, a resume, and copies of relevant academic and professional certifications to the email: recruitment @gormahia.com.

The deadline for applications is on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at 5:00 pm.

The foregoing comes after the club chairman, Ambrose Rachier, spoke out on the purge that saw a number of the club’s officials and personnel axed.

Speaking to the media on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, the chairman revealed the decision to dismiss the technical bench was reached mutually and amicably in the best interest of both parties.

Mutual and amicable

“We had a meeting about it, and we went through the contract for those with written contracts individually. It was something amicable and mutual, and taking account of their own dignity. They have signed without any pressure,” he stated.

In a move to avoid any legal run-ins with the club afterward, the lawyer added that the process was meticulously undertaken to avoid any blame.

“We started on the premise of what the contracts stated. And we went beyond the contracts just to say we are not blaming an individual since when you put the element of blame, then you open an avenue for litigation, which is not necessary,” he added.
