Gor Mahia rally fans for support ahead of season opener against Bidco United
By Joel Masibo, September 17, 2025Gor Mahia have urged their supporters to come out in their numbers as the team kick-starts the new 2025/2026 league season against Bidco United on Sunday, September 21, 2025, at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani.
K’Ogalo has also assured the fans that the journey to reclaiming their title begins this weekend when they face the Thika-based outfit, after letting the cup slip through their hands to the 2024/2025 FKF Premier League winners, Kenya Police FC.
”The journey to a successful 2025/26 season begins this weekend at Kasarani Stadium. We take on Bidco United in our first league tie. Be there; your support fuels the fight. This is our season,” Gor Mahia said via an X statement.

Recently, the club also expressed gratitude to their supporters who travelled to Tanzania to support the team during their pre-season friendly against Simba SC.
Gor Mahia lose to Simba
The Kenyan champions faced Tanzanian giants Simba SC on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam. The match was part of Simba’s annual Simba Day celebrations, where the hosts beat K’Ogalo 2-0.
“We truly thank all our fans who made it to Tanzania; your efforts and sacrifice to stand with the team are well appreciated. Mahia fans win,” Gor Mahia wrote on their official X account.
Under the new head coach, Charles Akonnor, the Simba SC friendly saw the integration of new signings into the squad put to the test. Travelling with the team were Michael Kibwage, Lewis Bandi, Fidel Origa, and Ghanaian duo Ebenezer Adukwa and George Amonoo, along with mainstays such as Sylvester Owino, Philemon Otieno, and Austin Odhiambo.
Meanwhile, after joining Gor Mahia from Tusker, Harambee Stars defender Michael Kibwage expressed his delight after making his first appearance for Gor Mahia during their defeat to Simba SC in Dar es Salaam.
“Delighted to have made my debut for Gor Mahia in Tanzania last night. Plenty to pick from despite our defeat. Looking forward to building on from here,” Kibwage shared his thoughts on his X account, writing on Thursday, September 11, 2025.
