Gor Mahia parts ways with head coach Sinisa Mihic
Kenya Premier League side Gor Mahia has part ways with its head coach Sinisa Mihic.
In a statement on Monday, May 19, 2025, the club, which sits third in the log, said it had part ways with the tactician on mutual agreement.
Mihic’s two assistants, Zedekiah “Zico” Otieno and Michael “Nam” will steer the club for the remaining part of the season in an acting capacity.
“We have parted ways with head coach Sinisa Mihic on mutual agreement; the two assistants to take charge on interim basis. We wish Mihic all the best in his endeavours,” Gor announced.
Early this year, it was reported that Mihic had fallen out with his two assistants.
Mihic joined Gor in February 2025, replacing Zico, who was relegated to the assistant position.
Mihic previously managed four-time Kuwaiti Premier League champions Al Samiyah SC, where he worked as an assistant manager for 16 days only (February 12-28 2022). He has also coached Kuwait’s Al Fahaheel (2014-2016), Al Shabab (2019-2020), and Croatia’s NK Crikvenica (January 2021- June 2021).
He has also coached Al-Ahli of Saudi Arabia and was an assistant coach at both Al Nasr (Libya) and Al-Merrikh (Sudan); he spent one season each at both stations.
Gor Mahia, who are the defending champions, were held to a 0-0 draw by Muranga Seals at Sportpesa Arena to stay seven points behind Police FC, with a game in hand.
On the other hand, Police just need one win from their remaining two matches against Shabana FC and Gor Mahia, to secure the championship.
Gor, on the other hand, must win all their three remaining fixtures against Ulinzi Stars, AFC Leopards, and Kenya Police to retain their title.
