Two Football Kenya Federation Premier League matches have been scheduled to be played on Wednesday, December 18, 2024.

Gor Mahia will face Ulinzi Stars in a 4:00 pm game that is set to take place at Machakos Stadium while FC Talanta and Police FC will play in an early kickoff at the same venue.

K’Ogalo will be looking to bounce back from a 1-0 defeat they suffered at the hands of Police. The goal scored by Alvin Mang’eni put more pressure on Gor Mahia’s interim head coach Zedekiah ‘Zico’ Otieno.

Zico was appointed to take charge of the team when Leonardo Neiva was sacked following a poor run of results. The Zico reign started positively as he registered three consecutive wins but has recently endured a run of three games without a win.

This has put the defending champions in a difficult position as far as the title defence campaign is concerned, as they are currently eighth on the logs.

However, a match against Ulinzi Stars is a perfect time to bounce back and secure points that would narrow the gap with the teams ahead of them.

The Soldiers have been on a poor run as they have lost two games and drawn in four over the last six fixtures.

Talanta vs Police

The Cops are looking for three points that will propel them to the third position. The South C-based outfit has been on a good run since Etienne Ndayiragije was appointed to take over the club when Salim Babu was dismissed.

Wins over Nairobi City Stars, Mara Sugar, and Bidco United look to have reignited their title dream, and they would like to continue with a winning run when they face Talanta.

Should they win, their point tally will increase to 23, a point adrift of Tusker and KCB.

On the other hand, Talanta are hoping to win and boost their chances of survival in the end. A win, statistically, is least likely given that Talanta have defeated Police only once in their last five encounters.
