The game kicked off under clear skies, with no rain affecting play. Gor Mahia made a late change to their starting eleven, with Gad Mathews replacing Brynne Omondi.
Both teams settled into the match early, testing each other’s defence, but neither could convert their chances in the first half. Gor Mahia forward Jackson Dwang’ came on for injured Ben Stanly just minutes before the break.
In the second half, Gor Mahia pushed for an opener. Felix led the attack, supported by Kapen on the right and Musa Shariff on the left. Despite forcing a few corners and putting pressure on the Shabana goal, the visitors could not break through.
Shabana responded with counterattacks but also struggled to score. In the final stages, Gor Mahia made a double substitution, with Alpha and Shariff making way for Fidel Origa and Patrick Essombe, but the result remained unchanged.

League standings tighten
The draw means Gor Mahia remain at the top of the Kenyan Premier League table with 27 points from 14 matches. AFC Leopards also have 27 points, while Kakamega Homeboyz sit third with 24 points.
Shabana stay fourth with 24 points after 16 matches, keeping them in contention for the upper half of the table. Both teams showed determination, and the goalless draw reflects the tight competition in the league.
Ahead of the match, Shabana chairman Jared Nivaton reassured fans about security arrangements at Gusii Stadium. He confirmed that all measures had been taken to ensure a safe match day.
Fans were asked to respect seating arrangements and follow instructions from security personnel. Nivaton reminded supporters that football results are part of the game and urged them to enjoy the event peacefully.
Gor Mahia’s administration manager, Ronald Ngala, reinforced the call for calm, especially for Gor Mahia supporters who had concerns about attending the match due to its relocation to Gusii.
Ngala advised fans to enter through designated gates, adhere to stadium seating, and enjoy the match in a safe manner. Both teams and the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) praised fans for arriving early and maintaining a peaceful atmosphere.
