Gor Mahia appeals to fans to exercise decorum ahead of new campaign
‘Gor Mahia Football Club has sent an appeal to the club’s faithful to exercise restraint and good behaviour as the 2025/26 season gets underway.
Gor, under new coach Charles Akonnor, will play Bidco United on Sunday, September 21, 2025.
In a statement dated Friday, September 19, 2025, Gor’s Secretary General Nick Arum rallied the fans to continue their show of support.
“We are thrilled to welcome you all to the 2025/26 Football season! Our campaign begins this Sunday, September 21st. We call on the entire Green Army to be the “12th player,” they are, pack the stadium and to create the right atmosphere all through the season as we aim to make a statement in the competition.

The official challenged the fans to desist disruptive acts of hooliganism that reared its ugly head last season when a section of the fans assailed interim Zedekiah Zico Otieno following the FKF Cup final pitting the club against Nairobi United.
Call for sanity
“We urge fans to maintain peace and exemplify the highest standards of good behaviour as one of our main goals this season is to win the league, secure a continental spot and rebuild with youth we have players who are committed to the cause, a number were released, some move to greener pastures but we have a solid team which include new additions,” Arum implored.
Meanwhile, the club has confirmed that Kasarani Stadium is its first-choice home ground, with Nyayo Stadium and Raila Odinga Stadium in Homa Bay following in that order.
The club also issued an update on the mode of ticketing, reminding fans to stick to the electronic mode in line with an earlier directive from the club.
The club has also stated that plans are underway to start a season ticket package.

“The club will continue with the e-ticketing system. We strongly urge all fans to purchase tickets officially to directly support the club.
Furthermore, management is finalising plans for a season ticket package to be launched soon. It’s important to emphasise that gates will be privatised and NO steward will be allowed to man the gates,”
New measures
The announcement on e-ticketing comes after K’Ogalo on Friday, June 6, 2025, suspended the deployment of stewards, branch representatives, and security officials at stadium gates during home matches.
In addition, Gor announced a raft of drastic measures to streamline the club’s revenue collection and improve fans’ experience in their home games.
Among the new measures adopted after the end of the 2025 season were a full shift to the electronic ticketing system, with the fans sternly cautioned against paying individuals to access the stadium.
The clubs confirmed that stewards will henceforth be charged solely with the responsibility of crowd control.
