FKF PL Week 17: Gor Mahia, AFC Leopards set for stern tests in New Year’s fixtures
Football Kenya Federation Premier League will return with five matches scheduled for Saturday, January 6, 2023 as the season enters the new year.
Nzoia Sugar, who have had a season to forget so far in 2023, will face Bandari at Mbaraki Stadium.
Bandari will have to fight hard and avoid a second straight loss after going down 1-0 to Gor Mahia at Kenyatta Stadium in the previous match.
On the other hand, the Sugar Millers will be looking for a second straight win after stunning KCB 1-0 in their last match.
Nairobi City Stars will host FC Talanta at Kasarani Annex. Simba wa Nairobi will be looking to get another win after their previous one against Kakamega Homeboyz.
Talanta were beaten 3-0 by Kariobangi Sharks, and this game offers them an opportunity to fight and avoid another loss.
At Raila Odinga Stadium in Homa Bay, Shabana and Muhoroni Youth, who have been struggling, will meet there.
Tore Bobe were defeated 1-0 by Bidco United in their year-ending fixture, while Youth managed a 1-0 win over Sofapaka.
After a shocking loss to City Stars, Homeboyz will hope to win their next match against Police and keep their title dream alive.
Eoic Gor, Rangers showdown
Posta Rangers, 2-0 winners over Ulinzi Stars in their last encounter, will be up against Gor Mahia.
This is a match that Gor Mahia must win and widen the gap even further at the top. Rangers, on the other hand, will be determined to beat the league leaders and gain ground lost after dropping crucial points in the previous games.
Kariobangi Sharks’ match against Murang’a Seal will be among the games that will be played on January 7.
After holding AFC Leopards to a one-all draw, Seal will be eager to collect more points on the road when they are hosted by the Eastlands club at the Police Sacco Stadium in South C, a match that will kick off at 1:00 p.m.
Batoto ba Mungu will be keen to get back to winning ways when they host Bidco United at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos.
AFC Leopards will be at home against Ulinzi Stars in a match that will be at Nyayo Stadium.
After fighting hard to win 1-0 against Police, Tusker’s resurgence will face a further test in the new year when they will play KCB in South C.
