Francis Kahata on target as KCB edge Posta Rangers in FKF Premier League action

The bankers struck in the 23rd minute when Kahata calmly finished to give KCB the lead, a goal that ultimately separated the two sides at the full-time whistle at the Kasarani Annexe. While Posta Rangers enjoyed the lion’s share of possession, they were unable to translate dominance into goals.

Posta Rangers controlled the match with 59 per cent of the ball and registered 16 shot attempts compared to KCB’s six. Corners were closely matched at 3–2 in favour of Posta, while offsides stood at 5–4. Both teams finished the match with one yellow card each.

KCB’s defensive resilience was epitomised by Amatton Samunya, who was named Man of the Match following a commanding performance. Samunya recorded nine clearances, one block, and won an aerial duel, while maintaining a solid 79 per cent pass accuracy. He also contributed to going forward with one chance created, underlining his all-round display.
Despite Posta Rangers’ territorial advantage, KCB held firm to claim all three points, breathing a sigh of relief after a series of poor results in the league.
Illegal streaming
Meanwhile, the fixture at the open Kasarani Annex attracted hundreds of spectators even as the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) and Azam Media Group have issued a joint warning over the rising cases of illegal live streaming of FKF Premier League matches on social media platforms.
In a statement released on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, the two organisations expressed concern that matches are increasingly being broadcast unlawfully, either directly from inside stadiums or through recordings taken from television screens and shared online.
