The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has appointed former Tusker FC defender Harold Ndege as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), officially taking over from Patrick Korir, who resigned earlier this month.

The appointment was revealed in a press release issued by FKF on Friday, February 14, 2025, following Ndege’s approval by the FKF National Executive Committee (NEC).

“Ndege replaces Patrick Korir, who resigned earlier this month after serving in an acting capacity since October 2024,” FKF stated in the press release.

Ndege, who has built a solid reputation in both football and managerial roles, brings over 13 years of experience from the private and public sectors.

He currently serves as the Vice Chair of the East Africa Pamoja AFCON 2027 and CHAN 2025 Finance Committee, a role that has seen him oversee key financial strategies for major continental tournaments.

FKF emphasised that his background would be instrumental in shaping the federation’s governance and operational structures.

“A former Tusker FC defender, Ndege brings a wealth of experience from both the private and public sectors, having spent over 13 years in various managerial roles,” the statement read.

FKF President Hussein Mohammed expressed confidence in Ndege’s ability to lead the federation, highlighting the significant responsibilities awaiting him.

He noted that the new CEO’s expertise in both football administration and management would be crucial in FKF’s ongoing efforts to enhance governance and efficiency.

“Harold Ndege has his work cut out for him, and we are pleased to have finalised this process,” Mohammed stated. “His experience in both football administration and management will be crucial in steering FKF forward.”

Mohammed also extended his appreciation to Korir for his dedication and professionalism during the transition, revealing that the outgoing CEO would assist Ndege in the coming weeks to ensure a seamless handover.

“I would also like to extend my gratitude to Patrick Korir for his professionalism and dedication during this transition period. To ensure a smooth handover, Korir will continue guiding the incoming CEO in the coming weeks,” the FKF president added.
