FKF boss hails Odemba and Mwanalima Adam for football excellence after state recognition
By Faith Lagat, December 13, 2025Football Kenya Federation (FKF) President Hussein Mohammed has congratulated Harambee Starlets head coach Beldine Odemba and forward Mwanalima Adam following their conferment with national honours by President William Ruto during Jamhuri Day celebrations on December 12, 2025.
In a post on X dated December 13, 2025, Mohammed noted that being recognised with the Moran of the Order of the Burning Spear (MBS) and the Head of State’s Commendation (HSC) was a powerful affirmation of the duo’s dedication, excellence and the impact they continue to make with the Starlets and Kenyan football at large.
“Congratulations to Coach Beldine Odemba and Mwanalima Adam (Dogo) on their well-deserved national honours. Being recognised with the Moran of the Order of the Burning Spear (MBS) and the Head of State’s Commendation (HSC) is a powerful affirmation of your dedication, excellence and the impact you continue to make with the @StarletsKE and Kenyan football at large. You have made the nation proud,” he said.

FKF President Hussein Mohammed further expressed his gratitude to President William Ruto and the Government of Kenya for recognising the important role football plays in society. He highlighted the government’s continued support in nurturing and developing the sport, noting that such collaboration is key to building a stronger future for Kenyan football.
“I also wish to sincerely thank the Government of Kenya, led by H.E. President @WilliamsRuto, for recognising the important role football plays in our society and for the continued support towards the growth and development of the game in our country. Together, we will keep building a stronger future for Kenyan football,” he added.
The awards recognise Odemba’s leadership in guiding the Starlets to qualification for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco, marking Kenya’s return to the tournament after a nine-year absence.
The Moran of the Order of the Burning Spear (MBS) is conferred for distinguished services to Kenya, reflecting Odemba’s contribution to national football.
Forward Mwanalima Adam, popularly known as Dogo, received the Head of State’s Commendation (HSC) for commendable service. She played a key role during the qualifiers, contributing decisive goals and showcasing remarkable skill throughout the campaign.
The honours were part of broader Jamhuri Day recognition of Kenyan sportspersons, highlighting their contributions to national development through football.
