FIVB Women’s World Championship match schedule released
The 2025 Volleyball Women’s World Championship is set to kick off in Phuket, Thailand, with the pool phase promising exciting clashes among some of the world’s top volleyball nations.
Fans can look forward to six days of action-packed matches from Friday, August 22, to Wednesday, August 27, 2025. The opening day will see Belgium face Cuba at 17:00, followed by a late-night thriller between Italy and Slovakia at 20:30.
On Saturday, 23 August, African giants Malkia Strikers of Kenya will take centre stage in their opening match against Germany at 17:00, before Poland meets Vietnam later in the evening.
The competition heats up on Sunday, 24 August, with Italy squaring off against Cuba, while Belgium tackles Slovakia under the lights.
Fans can expect more intensity on Monday, 25 August, when Germany goes head-to-head with Vietnam, followed by Poland clashing with Kenya in what promises to be a crucial fixture for the East Africans.
Tuesday, 26 August, will witness a heavyweight showdown as Italy takes on Belgium, while Cuba faces Slovakia in the night slot.
The pool phase will conclude on Wednesday, 27 August, with Kenya battling Vietnam in a must-win encounter before the European giants Poland and Germany close out the round with a blockbuster match.
Seeking to make a mark at the World Championships this year, the new-looking Malkia Strikers are placed in Pool G alongside Poland, Germany, and Vietnam, with their games scheduled in Phuket.
The team comprises veterans and fresh blood from the country’s top premier league clubs. With the mixture of experience and new energy, the team is tipped to compete for top two positions in their pool.
