Felix Oluoch strikes as Gor Mahia edge KCB to claim maximum points
Gor Mahia secured their second straight win of the 2025/26 FKF Premier League season after edging KCB 1-0 at the Dandora Stadium on Sunday afternoon, October 5, 2025.
Felix Oluoch’s solitary strike in the 62nd minute made the difference in a tense encounter played on the tricky artificial surface that both teams had criticised before kick-off.
The victory lifts Charles Akonnor’s side to six points from their last two matches, following their 2-0 triumph over Sofapaka a week earlier.
Akonnor praises team
Before the match, coach Akonnor had voiced his displeasure with the venue, describing the Dandora pitch as “slippery” and “unfavourable” for quality football.
With Nyayo and Kasarani stadiums still unavailable, the Ghanaian tactician had little choice but to lead his charges to the same ground for a second consecutive week. Despite the conditions, his men adapted well and stuck to their game plan.
”We will manage it, the other day we managed it. We will try not to develop in the back, we will play in the opponent’s half and keep them there. We will find a strategy because we have seen the way the opponent plays and we have prepared adequately for that match,” Akonnor said before the match.

The match itself offered few clear chances in the first half, with both sides struggling to control possession on the artificial turf. However, the breakthrough came just past the hour mark when Oluoch pounced on a loose ball inside the box to slot home calmly, sending the Gor Mahia fans behind the goal into celebration.
KCB, coached by veteran Robert “Lion” Matano, pushed hard for an equaliser in the dying minutes but found Gor’s defence, led by Mike Kibwage, too solid to breach.
The win marks another step forward for Akonnor’s rebuilding project at the club, following their shaky start to the season.
