Harambee Stars fullback Eric Ouma has made a swift return to action for his club Raków Częstochowa after recovering from injury.
Ouma had been sidelined with a hamstring injury sustained during their goalless draw against Stal Meilec, causing him to miss international friendlies for the national team.
Eric Ouma’s injury
The injury setback occurred when Ouma was substituted off during match 25, prompting concerns about the severity of his condition.
Raków Częstochowa confirmed the extent of the injury, stating that Ouma had torn his hamstring muscle and was initially expected to be out of action for three to four weeks.
As a result of the injury, Ouma was unable to join Harambee Stars’ camp for the Four Nations Tournament, where the national team emerged victorious by defeating Zimbabwe and Malawi to claim the trophy.
Ouma remained sidelined, undergoing rehabilitation with his club’s medical team.
However, in a remarkable turn of events, Ouma’s recovery progressed faster than anticipated, allowing him to return to the pitch after just two weeks of sitting out.
He made his comeback during Raków Częstochowa’s recent match against Ruch Chorzów, where he was given around nine minutes of playing time.
In the 26th round match of the PKO BP Ekstraklasa, Raków shared points with Ruch Chorzów, with the lone goal for the “Medalików” scored by Ante Crnac.
Crnac’s strike came just before the end of the first quarter of the game, as he unleashed a shot from outside the penalty area that found the back of the net.
Despite Ruch Chorzów’s efforts to equalize, including a close chance by Soma Novothy and a clearance by Dante Stipica, the first half concluded with Raków Częstochowa holding the lead.
The second half saw both teams continuing their attacking endeavors, with Crnac once again testing the opposition’s defense with a powerful shot.
Eric Ouma’s side pick point
Although Miłosz Kozak and Ivi Lopez made notable contributions for Ruch Chorzów, it was Łukasz Moneta who eventually secured the equalizer in the dying moments of the match.
Ouma’s return to action marks a significant boost for Raków Częstochowa as they continue their campaign in the PKO BP Ekstraklasa, with the defender eager to make a positive impact following his injury layoff.
