Dockers, GSU reign round six of volleyball contest
NAIROBI: Two of the top contenders in the 2022 Kenya Volleyball Federation-Men’s League General Service Unit and Kenya Ports Authority proved their might as Round six of the competition checked in yesterday at the Nyayo Stadium Gymnasium.
A total of seven games were played with all eyes on leaders GSU and second-placed KPA. GSU silenced Administration Police Kenya in three straight sets of 25-17/25-23/25-19 in what was a dominant display for them.
Defending champions GSU only had to be on alert in the second set where they won by two points against a resilient AP. GSU have 25 points with a match in hand and still has a chance to reclaim their title.
On the other hand, KPA got the better of Kenya Forestry Service with a 3-0 victory of 25-23/25-19/25-23, with the Dockers having to work harder in the opening set and last set of the regular count. KFS were determined and pushed Sammy Mulinge’s men in all quarters with their attacks on the net and service working well.
However, the experience of KPA was noticeable as they caught the back-court of the opponents uncovered. KPA has 30 points in 11 matches and still enjoys the top spot.
