Star Field Elite Academy Director Robert Muthomi has told Mohammed Bajaber to keep working hard in order to shine even more for the national team Harambee Stars.

The Kenya Police star was given his debut against Gambia in a World Cup qualifier and scored a spectacular goal. Against Gabon at Nyayo Stadium, he was one of the impressive players, although Kenya were beaten 2-1.

To keep his position on the national team, the former Nairbo City Stars forward has been told he has to keep working hard.

“Nothing is given in sport.”

“You must work hard every day, and he has to earn his position in the Harambee Stars under Benni McCarthy. Just because he was in the squad is not an assumption that he will always be in the squad.

“He has to keep on proving to the coach every day why he has to be in the squad because the coach and Kenyans are looking for results, and at any one time, the coach will put together a squad that he believes will give him the results, and he has to make sure that he is part of that squad,” Muthomi said as quoted by local publication.

Leadership

Apart from having top talent, Muthomi says the promising star has leadership qualities.

“Mohammed will always give 150 per cent on the field. He is a player who believes in hard work and is extremely disciplined, never late for a minute for team events; he is a player you can depend on,” added Muthomi.

“But also, as he grows in the Harambee Stars, they will be able to see that he has the leadership qualities, and if he continues staying there, he is definitely a Harambee Stars captain in the future,” he concluded.

Ahead of the September and October World Cup qualifiers, Bajaber is currently helping Police chase their Premier League title dream.
