In-form Jonah Ayunga continued his fine cruise in the Scottish League as St. Mirren FC edged Livingston FC 1-0 in a clash staged on Saturday, December 21, 2025.

Fresh from his two-goal heroics in the Premier Cup finals against Celtic, Ayunga’s quest for back-to-back goals was curtailed after VAR intervened to disallow his goal for a foul on the build-up to the goal.

The heartbreak came as Stephen Robinson’s side chased an elusive opener that ultimately came in the 72nd minute from Mikael Mandron’s goal.

Building momentum

The win marked consecutive clean sheets for the midtable side, who extended their winning run to three league games.

Robinson sounded the significance of maintaining the run after what he termed as an important week in the history of the club, after winning its maiden top-flight silverware after a 12-year wait.

‘We scored another perfectly good goal that was disallowed, but the move was awesome as we had planned with our big boys upfront. It was difficult to go after the celebratory move, but the boys showed they could do it again,” he said.

“It is important we maintain this run. We look to reach those above us. I have stated that we are not as bad as we may look,” he added.

Elsewhere, in Serbia, Harambee Stars defender Collins Sichenje delivered an outstanding display as FK Vojvodina claimed a 2–1 away victory over FK Javor Ivanjica in the Serbian SuperLiga.

The Stars’ vice skipper accrued a positive rating across the board, with three giving him an over 7.0 rating.

Sichenje’s exploits in Serbia

The result saw Vojvodina remain unbeaten in the league for four games, with their last defeat coming back in November against Radnik.

The third-ranked side has beaten fancied Red Bull in the period and won away against Vrasic in the Serbian Cup tie, overcoming a red card to win the clash with ten men.

Sichenje and his team currently trail the top two-ranked teams by six points after 20 games of the league season.
