KSSSA: Flying starts for St Anthony, Shanderema in National Football games
The KSSSA National Football Games kicked off with an electrifying start, setting the stage for an intense tournament as 20 goals were jubilantly netted on the opening day of the competition.
In pool B, St. Anthony Kitale demonstrated their dominance by securing a resounding 8-0 victory over Eastern Region Champions Matiliku.

Aldrine Kibet and Stanley Waswa led the charge with remarkable performances, each scoring twice in the memorable win.
The goal spree also saw contributions from David Wekesa, Junior Gregory, Alvin Kasavuli, and Joseph Omuse, solidifying St. Anthony’s triumphant start to the tournament.
Pool A action was equally captivating, with Shanderema making a formidable statement in their opening match against Eastern Champions Khorof Harar.
The Shanderema also showcased their prowess, clinching a commanding 8-0 victory. Forward Maxwell Wamalwa emerged as a standout performer, securing a remarkable hat-trick with three goals to his name. Kelly Madada also made his mark on the scoresheet, contributing to the emphatic win that set the bar high for the competition ahead.
Agoro Sare displayed their mettle by prevailing over Kirangari with a final score of 2-1, showcasing their determination and skill on the field.
Meanwhile, in a closely contested encounter, Dagoreti High managed to edge out Serani with a solitary goal, clinching a hard-fought victory.
