Amisi condemns attack on St. Joseph’s Kitale goalkeeper at FEASSSA games
Saboti Member of Parliament (MP) Caleb Amisi has strongly condemned the violent attack on the St Joseph’s Boys Kitale goalkeeper during the Federation of East African Secondary Schools Sports Association (FEASSSA) semi-final clash against Musingu.
The incident, which unfolded during the tense fixture, saw Musingu fans invade the pitch after their late equaliser in the 85th minute, during which the goalkeeper is said to have been attacked.
Taking to his official X account on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at night, Amisi said such acts have no place in school competitions and undermine the spirit of sportsmanship.
“I strongly condemn the brutal attack on the St Joseph’s Boys Kitale goalkeeper during the East Africa Champions School Games 2025 semi-final against Musingu. Such violence is inhuman and unacceptable in youth sports,” Amisi stated.
Firm action
The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) legislator further emphasised that young athletes must be protected and nurtured, noting that school competitions are platforms for talent development, not violence.
He went ahead to call on authorities to take firm action against those responsible for the incident.
“I urge fans to embrace peace and sportsmanship and call on the authorities to take firm action against those responsible. Kenya needs a renaissance,” he wrote on X.

St Joseph’s vs Musingu drama
The Musingu vs St Joseph’s Kitale (JOBO) semifinal clash at Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega was abandoned on Thursday, August 21, 2025, in the dying minutes after Musingu fans stormed the pitch to celebrate Marvin Ashiundu’s late equaliser.
Some reports indicate that the JOBO goalkeeper was attacked by a stone as he prepared to defend a free kick, and in the process, he missed the ball as he defended himself from the stone, with fans immediately invading the pitch after the goal.
Earlier, Simiyu Rickson had put JOBO ahead in the 16th minute from the spot after Collins Mwalati was fouled in the box.
The match will most likely resume on Friday, August 22, 2025, with 30 minutes of extra time to be played, or head to penalty shootouts.
