The Technical Director of the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Michael Amenga, has successfully completed a ten-day CAF Elite Instructors Course in Rabat, Morocco.

This course is part of his ongoing efforts to enhance trainers’ knowledge and skill set. Amenga was one of 16 CAF experts selected to acquire essential knowledge and skills to assist other member associations in implementing the CAF Coaching Convention, particularly those who have not yet adopted this convention.

Amenga joined by Odemba

Joining him from Kenya were Harambee Starlets coach Beldine Odemba and Coach Jackline Juma, who also participated in a ten-day CAF Women Elite Instructors Course.

Amenga was appointed to the influential CAF Technical and Development Committee in July 2022. This committee, initially formed in 2017, comprises 17 members and is responsible for shaping football policies across the African continent. Their duties include the analysis and evaluation of key aspects of football training, administration, and technical development in Africa.

Furthermore, they are tasked with redefining the roles and responsibilities of Technical Directors, reviewing the content and organization of the Coaching Licensing System, and assessing CAF Instructors, among other responsibilities. The committee also examines partnerships with organizations such as FIFA, UEFA, AFC, and other Confederations.

Amenga’s record

Amenga, a former national under-17 and under-23 coach, has the distinction of becoming the first Kenyan to be appointed to this influential committee.

He serves alongside renowned football legends like South Africa’s Lucas Radebe, Uganda’s Edgar Watson, Cameroon’s Geremi Njitap, and Togo’s Emmanuel Adebayo.
