FKF Premier League side AFC Leopards have announced the return of their former midfielder, Bernard Mang’oli.
Mang’oli, who previously served as the club captain, is making a comeback to AFC Leopards, this time in the capacity of team manager.
AFC Leopards changes
He will be taking over from Albert Wesonga, who has been promoted to the role of Chief Executive Officer within the club.
In addition to this managerial change, the club has also introduced Haggai Azande as the new captain, and Joshua Caleb Osir will be serving as the assistant physiotherapist.
AFC Leopards officially confirmed these appointments, stating that they will be effective immediately and are contracted for a two-year period.
The club extended their best wishes to the newly appointed staff members as they assumed their new roles.
“We are pleased to announce the appointment of Haggai Azande, Benard Mang’oli Wanyama and Joshua Caleb Osir, as Goalkeeper Coach, Team Manager and Assistant physiotherapist respectively. The appointment takes effect immediately,” the club announced.
“They will be joining us for a period of two Years. We wish them the best of luck as they take over their new roles at the club,” the statement by the club added.
AFC Leopards appoint Trucha
Mang’oli, who has played for clubs like Leopards, Sofapaka, and Bandari, previously made his international debut for Kenya in 2012.
Furthermore, AFC Leopards has rehired Tomas Trucha as the head coach. Trucha’s return to the club comes after the departure of Tom Juma, who had been in charge of the team since his appointment in July.
Juma’s exit was prompted by a string of poor performances. Trucha had a brief stint with AFC Leopards in 2020, and now he is back to lead the team.
