Woman sues Itumbi for child support

By , September 6, 2019

A woman has sued former State House Digital Director Dennis Itumbi over child support.

In documents filed at Milimani Law Courts children court, the child’s mother— through lawyer Enricah Dulo— said Itumbi has neglected his child.

She is seeking Sh50,000 monthly subsistence allowance to cater for the minor’s food, clothing, and medicine, and house help’s salary.

The woman has also sought orders to compel Itumbi to provide a copy of his national identity card so that his name can be included in the child’s birth certificate.

She claimed when she was expectant, Itumbi served her a suspicious drink and immediately they left the meeting she started bleeding.

“My client rushed to Jacaranda Maternity Hospital along Kangundo road where the medical attendant asked her whether she had tried to abort the foetus,” said Dulo.

Court documents indicate that on October 26, 2018, Itumbi invited the woman for a meeting where he  again tried to convince her to abort.

She said Itumbi has since blocked her number and is unable to communicate with him regarding the minor.

“We are requesting the court to have my client granted all the actual and legal custody of the minor,” said Dulo.

Itumbi and the woman are said to have dated from January to August 2018, but Itumbi ended the relationship after she informed him she was pregnant with his child.

The woman said the child was born on June 14.

The case will be heard on September 26.
