A police officer’s wife was on Monday found dead at Gigiri Police Line in a case officials ruled as suicide.

The deceased’s husband who is a police officer attached to Runda Police Station said he returned home and found his wife’s lifeless body suspended from the window grill of their house with a shawl.

According to a report filed at Gigiri Police Station, the 27-year old woman is said to have died holding their seven-month-old infant.

“The reportee rushed to the kitchen where he picked a knife to cut off the cloth from her neck but unfortunately she had passed on while holding her 7months old baby,” read the report

Officials said her body was moved to Kenyatta University morgue awaiting autopsy.
