Wetang’ula reveals plans to improve Lwakhakha-Kanduyi Road to high-density road
National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula has disclosed the government’s plans to enhance infrastructure in Bungoma, particularly focusing on the improvement of the Lwakhakha-Kanduyi road.
Wetang’ula shared that the government is committed to various development projects in the county, spanning across education, transportation, and healthcare facilities.
Wetang’ula on merits
The speaker said that the improvement is aimed at addressing traffic challenges in the Western border region.
He said the government intends to elevate this road to a high-density status and revealed the plan for the phased construction of a dual carriageway from Malaba to Nairobi, promising improved connectivity and fostering economic progress in the region.
“I am aware that Bungoma is set to have developments that will transform the County, which will cut across Schools, roads, and health facilities. Next year, the National Government intends on elevating the Lwakhakha-Kanduyi road to a high-density road strategically designed to alleviate trailer traffic at the Western border.
Wetang’ula’s revealation
“This initiative will be complemented by the phased construction of a dual carriageway from Malaba to Nairobi, promising enhanced connectivity and economic progress,” Wetang’ula revealed on his X account after joining congregants at St. Stephen’s Sikusi Catholic Church.
He mentioned that he had honoured an invitation from Father Protus Wosianju and took the opportunity to express his prayers for global peace.
“As we engage in the ongoing festivities, our prayers extend for peace to embrace our region, nation, and continent. We earnestly hope for a resolution to the longstanding conflict between the Palestinians and Israelis, a strife that has unfortunately claimed numerous lives,” he added.
