Wetang’ula pens special message to newlywed daughter

The Speaker of the National Assembly, Moses Wetangula, has assured his daughter, Tamara Wetang’ula, of his blessing following her wedding on Friday, April 18, 2025.
Tamara tied the knot with her fiance, Anthony Njoroge, in a colourful ceremony that not only celebrated the beginning of marriage but also a fusion of cultures.
His father took to his X platform to express his excitement and a message of goodwill to the newlyweds.
“To Tamara and Anthony, as you begin this new chapter in your life, I offer you my blessing. I wish you a lifetime of love and happiness together, and may your marriage be blessed with all of life’s goodness,” he said.
With the nuptials coinciding with the celebrations for Easter, the Speaker termed it a joyous moment for his entire family, terming the event as more than just a union of two families.
“This Easter remains a memorable one for my family, as we witness our daughter take the next step of commitment to love. Today, we witness not just the union of two families but a further strengthening of the social fabric and the bonds between communities.

The speaker also acknowledged President William Ruto’s presence at the event.
The head of state led a high-profile guest list that included cabinet secretaries for Tourism, Rebecca Miano and her Environment counterpart, Deborah Barasa.
A host of members of Parliament also attended the function.

The wedding came days after the two lovebirds took part in a pompous private pre-wedding traditional ceremony that took place on April 5, 2025, in their Kanduyi’s Home in Bungoma.
The private, green-themed event was also attended by senior government officials, and celebrated the couple’s engagement in traditional style.
