Ruto on inclusive govt
President Ruto during his tour of Mt. Kenya region defended his choice to include opposition members in his broad-based cabinet.
Ruto while addressing Embu residents on the roadside on August 7, 2024, reiterated that his decision will unite Kenyans and reduce division between the government and the opposition.

Ruto maintained that everyone should now join the government, and carry the blame of over-taxation, together with him.
Ruto has been facing criticism from a section of Kenyans for nominating former Mombasa governor Hassan Joho, John Mbadi, Opiyo Wandayi and Wycliffe Oparanya, who all held leadership positions in the opposition’s Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party.
