‘Parts of Kenya to experience heavy rainfall’ – Weatherman
Several parts of the country will experience heavy downpours in the next seven days, the Kenya Meteorological Department has announced.
Among the regions which should expect heavy rainfall according to the weatherman include Western Kenya, South Rift Valley, Lake Victoria Basin, Central Highlands, Southeastern Lowlands, and Northwestern Kenya.
During the period, the department has forecast high daytime temperatures ( over 30°C) for counties including Turkana, Samburu, Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, Isiolo, Garissa, Tana River, Lamu, Kilifi, Mombasa, Kwale, Taita Taveta, Kajiado, Makueni, Kitui, Laikipia, Baringo, West Pokot, Bungoma, Kakamega and Busia.
In contrast, chilly nights (below 10°C) are anticipated in parts of Nyeri, Laikipia, and Murang’a counties.
Also, during the period, moderate rainfall is anticipated in Nairobi County.
Weather for last one week
In the last seven days, most parts of the country remained sunny and dry, save for a few areas in the South Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin, the Highlands East and West of the Rift Valley, South-eastern lowlands, the Coast and North-eastern Kenya which received light to moderate rainfall.
Relatively higher temperatures were experienced in most parts of the country.
