National Super League side Vihiga United has recruited 10 new players to bolster its squad ahead of their league campaign as they seek to bounce back to the top tier.

The team that is sponsored by the Vihiga County Government released 16 players to create space for the new arrivals and they retained 15 of their former squad members.

Speaking during the unveiling, the club’s president Kahi Indimuli revealed that the team is putting everything in place to enable them to have a swift return in Kenyan Premier League.

“We are pleased with the work being done by our head coach Sammy Okoth who is being joined by veteran coach Nick Yakhama as a technical director and we trust them to help us realise our dream by the end of the season,” said Indimuli.

He added: “We call upon all our fans to come and support us as we also thank Vihiga County for the support and we shall not let them down.”

The team was promoted to the Premier League in 2017, just four years after its formation, and only enjoyed two seasons in which it struggled to put feet in the top tier league.
