We are sorry Ruto’s inauguration invitation cards were not enough – Veronica Maina apologises to hustlers
United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Secretary-General Veronica Maina has apologised to the party’s supporters who did not have an opportunity to attend the inauguration ceremony of William Ruto.
Maina who spoke to journalists at Kasarani Stadium where the mega event took place, assured Ruto supporters that the new President will tour different regions to meet with them.
“Please bear with us. The cards would not have been enough but we will find a chance for you to meet Ruto. We are sorry for the inconvenience,” she said.
The SG termed today’s inauguration ceremony as a thanksgiving event for the peace that Kenyans are enjoying after the rigorous campaign and election process.
Maina revealed Ruto will set up his cabinet after his swearing-in ceremony, she added that the cabinet will have 50 per cent women as pledged during the campaigns.
“After he sets up his cabinet, we expect Kenyans to quickly settle down and go back to work. It will be a time for everyone to put their hustle in a more enabling environment to revive our economy,”Maina stated.
She expressed hope that Ruto’s government will create more opportunities especially for the youth who have been grappling with joblessness, their academic qualifications notwithstanding.
