Uhuru and Kalonzo hold interactive session with winners and alumni of FALA in Lagos
Retired President Uhuru Kenyatta and the Wiper Patriotic Front Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka have held an interactive session with winners and alumni of the Future Africa Leaders Awards at Omnia Towers in Lagos, Nigeria.
Based on a statement shared on X by the Office of the 4th President of Kenya on Friday, January 2, 2025, the two leaders encouraged young Africans to embrace purpose, resilience, and faith in their leadership journeys.
Mentoring the youth
The forum centred on overcoming self-doubt, recognising one’s God-given purpose, and understanding that meaningful change often begins with small, consistent actions. Uhuru Kenyatta and Kalonzo Musyoka emphasised that every individual has the potential to make a difference, regardless of their background or circumstance.
Speaking on the sidelines of the FALA 2025 on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, the retired Head of State praised Africa’s youth as the continent’s greatest resource. He urged them to lead with courage, integrity, and vision, asserting that Africa’s transformation will be driven by its own people rather than external solutions.

“We have been told of the great wealth beneath Africa’s soil, but our greatest resource is within the minds and hearts of our young people. You are not leaders of tomorrow; you are leaders of today who are shaping tomorrow,” he said.
Uhuru Kenyatta commended the award recipients for their service and innovation, noting that their efforts exemplify the continent’s growing leadership potential. “Each of these young men and women chose service over self, community over comfort, and vision over fear. We honour not just what they have done, but who they have become.”
Kalonzo’s recognition
Commenting on the Awards, the Wiper party said Kalonzo Musyoka’s invitation recognises his distinguished leadership record and recent international accolades. Adding that he was recently honoured with the London Political Summit and Awards (LPSA) 10th Anniversary Africa Political Leader and Personality of the Year Award.

”The invitation recognises Party Leader Musyoka’s distinguished leadership and recent accolades, including being honoured as the London Political Summit and Awards (LPSA) 10th Anniversary Africa Political Leader and Personality of the Year Award recipient,” the statement released on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, said in part.
The Future Africa Leaders Awards, founded by Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, recognises and supports exceptional young Africans driving positive change in their communities.
