UDA announces repeat grassroots elections after poll disputes

By , January 22, 2026

The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has announced repeat grassroots elections in selected polling centres across 42 counties after disputes arose from recent party polls.

The party published the notices on its official X account on Thursday, January 22, 2026. The documents came from the National Elections Board (NEB) and outlined the areas affected and the timetable for the repeat exercise.

According to the main notice, the National Executive Committee (NEC) and the Elections and Nominations Dispute Resolution Committee (ENDRC) reviewed complaints filed after the grassroots elections. Following the review, the party resolved to conduct repeat elections in specific polling centres where issues were reported, rather than rerun the entire process.

“The Committee resolved that the Party shall conduct repeat elections in SELECT polling centres across the 42 counties on the 7th of March 2026 for Phase III elections and on the 28th of March 2026 for Phase II elections,” the notice read in part.

UDA will hold repeat Phase III elections on March 7, 2026. Phase II repeat elections will follow on March 28, 2026. Registration for aspirants opened on January 21 and will close on February 21, 2026. The party directed interested members to apply through its online portal, which lists the affected polling centres and available positions.
