The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has confirmed that the party primaries exercise will continue on Monday after successful nominations were held in several counties and wards across the country on Saturday, September 20, 2025.

In an update to the media on Saturday, September 20, 2025, the party’s electoral chair, Anthony Mwaura, disclosed that it had conducted nominations for the senate seat in Baringo and Member of County Assemblies (MCAs) in Kariobangi Wards, Kisia East, Tembelio, Lakeside, and Metkei wards.

The party has further stated that the exercise will continue on Monday, September 22, 2025, with five other areas.

Monday nominations

“The nominations will continue on Monday with Chemundu/Kapng’etuny ward in Nandi County and the other three wards in Nyamira,” the party stated.

The party confirmed that the postponement of the exercise to Monday was made with due consideration of the members of the Seventh Day Adventist who could not participate due to religious commitments.

The three ward seats in Nyamira are Nyansiongo, Nyamaiya and Ekerenyo.

“The reason why we did not conduct them is because of the Seventh Day Adventist aspect,” the party revealed.

Meanwhile, the party has called on its members to offer feedback and help them enhance the process that was undertaken electronically across the nation.

“In UDA, we are committed to feedback and transparency, and we ask our members to share feedback as we look to improve and make this process efficient,” the party official added.

This comes after the nomination held in several areas across the country.

Acceptance speech

In his acceptance speech, Kigen appreciated the ruling party for using the electronic voting system, arguing that it gives error-free results, thus ensuring transparency in the nominations.

“UDA has shown that it is possible to have free, fair and transparent nominations. As a member, I am very proud that the will of the people of Tembelio ward was reflected and respected in our party primaries,” Kigen said.

In Malava, Kakamega County Minority Leader David Ndakwa clinched the ticket for the constituency’s by-election with 6,477 votes, defeating Ryan Malulu, who garnered 3,783.
