From Kariobangi North in Nairobi to Lake Zone in Turkana, the party will be seeking to demonstrate its national reach and ability to manage primaries fairly across varied political landscapes.
According to the UDA National Elections Board, aspirants were required to submit applications via the party’s online portal by September 5, 2025.
Nomination fees were set at Ksh50,000 for MCA aspirants and Ksh250,000 for parliamentary and senatorial hopefuls. Women, youth, and persons with disabilities paid half these amounts. The board has maintained that the process will be free, fair, and transparent.
Campaigns for the by-elections will begin on October 8, 2025 and run until November 24, 2025, giving successful UDA nominees just over two months to make their case to voters.
With strong opposition parties expected to field candidates in many of the same areas, the nominations will be a critical first step in shaping the contests ahead.
