Trans Nzoia County Government Workers Union  has called for the disbandment of the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC) for telling off counties who have given health workers fight COVID-19 additional allowances.

Union Chairman Samuel Juma Kiboi said the commission had become a stumbling block to the welfare of the frontline workers despite suggestions by some governors  that the officers be awarded some allowances.

“What should make Kenyans have trust in the government efforts to end the coronavirus  is not only the daily television updates but the disbandment of SRC.

“It is a commission whose existence has affected the livelihoods of many Kenyans who are now at the mercy of the disadvantaged health workers,” said Mr Kiboi.
