Reactions to Karua’s Azimio exit
Martha Karua’s Narc Kenya has formally announced its exit from the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition.
This was announced in a letter dated July 25, 2024, that was documented by Acting Secretary General Asha Bashir, who addressed Secretary General of the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Coalition Secretariat Junet Mohammed.
Karua also posted the letter on her account on X, formerly Twitter, underscoring the party’s firm stance.
The decision by Narc Kenya to leave Azimio comes even as Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka on Thursday, July 25, 2024, dismissed cracks within the political outfit.
More reactions are expected on Karua’s move to exit the Raila Odinga-led coalition, just a day after Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) landed four Cabinet slots in President William Ruto’s government.

Former MP in trouble
Former Isiolo South MP Abdi Tepo and his wife Halima Gura Roka, who is a Quality Assurance Officer at the defunct National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF), are expected in court after being arrested by Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC).
The couple was arrested on Thursday, July 25, 2024, afternoon after the MP purported to open fire at EACC detectives who had gone to his residence for a search operation targeting his wife, a prime suspect in the multi-million NHIF graft scandal under investigation by the Commission.
During the operation, detectives recovered two briefcases full of US dollars, estimated to be in millions, and assorted chemicals (in powder and liquid form) suspected to be used for making fake notes.
Samples of the notes tested at the EACC Integrated Financial Forensic Lab were fake.
