Ruto in Italy

President William Ruto arrived in Apulia, Italy on Friday to participate in the G7 2024 summit.

The summit which started on Thursday, June 13, 2024, enters its final day on Saturday, June 15, 2024. The Head of State is one of the delegates at the summit and as usual, his engagement will be top on the airwaves.

This three-day event includes leaders from Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

During the summit, Ruto will emphasize the need to involve African countries in addressing global challenges like climate change, peace, and security. He will also highlight Africa’s potential for green industrialization, digital innovation, and significant renewable energy resources. Additionally, Ruto will discuss reforms within the African Union aimed at improving trade, development, peace, stability, and global participation.

On Sunday, Ruto will travel to Burgenstock, Switzerland to join other leaders in talks on achieving peace in Ukraine. This meeting, which follows a discussion between the European Union delegation in Kenya and Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, aims to address issues such as nuclear security, food security, freedom of navigation, and humanitarian concerns.

Saturday Blackout

Kenya Power announced electricity interruption expected to affect some parts of Nairobi on Saturday, June 15, 2024.

The utility company cited routine network maintenance as the reason for the interruption.

Some residents of Lavington will experience a temporary outage from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

The areas to be affected include; Othaya RD, Muthangari, Valley Arcade and adjacent customers.
