Kenya Air Force 60th Anniversary
The Kenya Air Force (KAF) will commemorate its 60th anniversary at Moi Airbase with President William Ruto expcted to grace the event.
Established on 1st June 1964, coinciding with Kenya’s first Madaraka Day anniversary, KAF’s mission has been to defend and maintain the sovereignty of Kenya’s airspace.
Over the past six decades, KAF has played a crucial role in defending Kenya’s airspace and territorial integrity, supported by bases and forward operating bases across the country.
Their mission extends beyond logistics to include humanitarian efforts and regional cooperation. The well-trained personnel are central to KAF’s success, reflecting a significant investment in diverse skill sets.
Junior Starlets Final Session
The Kenya U17 Girls’ National Team, Junior Starlets, are in Burundi ahead of the FIFA U17 World Cup Qualifiers first leg match against Burundi.
This match is scheduled to be played on Sunday, June 9, 2024, at the Abebe Bikila Stadium in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
The team departed for Ethiopia on Friday, June 7, 2024, at 6 pm and is set to hold the final session ahead of the first leg of the fourth and final round of the FIFA U17 World Cup Qualifiers.
After the two legs, the winner on aggregate will secure automatic qualification for the 2024 FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup in October, which will be held in the Dominican Republic.
FKF Division One and NSL Playoffs
The final of the Division One playoffs will take place this Saturday, June 8, 2024, at Dandora alongside the FKF Women National Super League (WNSL) playoffs.
The FKF WNSL showdown will feature two playoff matches. The early kickoff at 12 noon will determine which team secures the final FKF Women Premier League spot, between Kayole Starlet (second in Zone A) and KISPED Queens (second in Zone B).
Enterprise Cup Final
Defending champions Kabras Sugar will meet KCB for the fourth time in an Enterprise Cup final when they face off at the RFUEA Grounds on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at 3:00 p.m.
Their first meeting in 2017 saw the bankers retain that year’s title with a 27-23 win over their opponents. Kabras won the 2022 final 9-6 before registering a 30-27 victory in 2023.
Saturday’s Enterprise Cup final will be the 85th since the tournament’s inception in 1930, having not been played between 1940 and 1946 due to World War II, in 1987 due to the All African Games, and between 2020-21 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
