Development on Vanesa Ogema

Vanesa Ogema, a 23-year-old final-year student at Nairobi Women’s Hospital College, has been taken into police custody following a viral video showing her causing a disturbance and verbally abusing a healthcare provider at Port Victoria Hospital in Busia County.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) confirmed Ogema’s arrest, stating that she will appear in court on Monday, January 8.

In the video, Ogema harassed hospital staff, throwing files on the floor and threatening to involve a powerful politician from the area.

The Nairobi Women’s Hospital College, in a press statement on January 4, described Ogema’s actions as regrettable and announced an internal investigation into the student’s behaviour. The development of her case is expected to be of public interest.

FA Cup

The FA Cup continues with an enticing third-round clash as Manchester United face a trip to Wigan, creating a classic encounter.

Despite the considerable 53-place gap between them on the football league ladder, both teams share similarities in navigating challenges related to off-pitch issues and striving to rebuild from recent lows.

The match coincides with the departure of Liverpool loanee James Balagizi from Wigan, adding an intriguing element to this cup tie. However, Wigan is dealing with concerns about the fitness of Stephen Humphrys and Scott Smith, while Tom Pearce and Jason Kerr are ruled out.

Manchester United have seen Lisandro Martinez and Casemiro return to training but is unlikely to feature them in this fixture. In terms of injuries, Rasmus Hojlund, Victor Lindelof, and Luke Shaw are progressing toward their comebacks.

Goalkeeper Andre Onana may retain his place over Altay Bayindir, as he delayed joining the Cameroon squad for the Africa Cup of Nations. Sofyan Amrabat has travelled after being called up by Morocco, further adding to the dynamics of the upcoming match.
