November 22, 2023: Top news events to look out for today
Here is what you need to know in order to get up to speed with today’s happenings.
1. Anne Njeri, Energy Committee meeting
Anne Njeri -the businesswoman behind the disputed Ksh17 billion oil importation saga is expected to have a sit-down with the National Assembly Committee on Energy on Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at Mini-chamber, County Hall.
Njeri will be addressing various issues including offering an explanation of the ownership details of the consignment, country of origin as well as the intended destination of the consignment.
2. Pastor Dorcas’ rehab graduation
The spouse of the Deputy President, Pastor Dorcas Rigathi, will today lead in the graduation of the second cohort of 79 rehabilitated addicts under her office.
The event will take place at the Aberdare Rehabilitation Centre, Kapteni Area, Nyandarua County.
3. Nairobi liquor traders meeting
Nairobi bars, wines and liquor traders will today hold a meeting to brainstorm on licence fees after a successful press conference with Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja.
Sakaja had met Bar Hotels & Liquor Traders Association of Kenya(BAHLITA) members and a committee was formed to review licenses within seven days.
The meeting shall kick off at 10 am at Blue Springs Hotel along Thika Road.
4. Development Partnership Forum launch
Development Partnership Forum is set to be launched on Wednesday at DP’s official residence in Karen, Nairobi.
Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua will also address ambassadors and other development partners.
5. KBA exhibition
Kenya Bankers Association(KBA) 2023 edition of the annual Inua Biashara Day MSME Exhibition will take place today at the Sarit Expo Centre.
The event will also be attended by Co-operatives and Micro Small and Medium Enterprises Development Cabinet Secretary Simon Kiprono Chelugui.
6. Signing of IPAs
At least 18 County Governments led by the respective governors will today sign IPAs for phase one of the County Aggregated and Industrial Parks project.
The signing will take place at the CoG offices, Delta Corner in Westlands.
7. Issuing of digital gadgets
Principal Secretary for Internal Security and National Administration Raymond Omollo will officially issue Digital Gadgets to Regional and County Commissioners for tracking and coordinating National Government Programs, policies and projects in the counties.
The function will take place at Kenya School of Government, Lower Kabete.
8. KDF Taekwondo Association final league
The Kenya Defence Forces Taekwondo Associations will host Inter discipline forces final league 2023 at the Moi Air Base gymnasium in Nairobi.
The event brings together teams from the Kenya Defence Forces, General Service Unit, National Police Service, Administration Police and National Youth Service.
