Gachagua impeachment debate
The debate surrounding the impeachment of Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua is set to continue on Monday, with more leaders expected to weigh in on the contentious issue. Several members of parliament have hinted that the matter could be formally addressed in Parliament on Tuesday.
The issue intensified on Sunday when Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua refuted claims that he had demanded Ksh8 billion from President William Ruto to step down from his position. During a live interview on September 29, 2024, Gachagua dismissed the allegations, stating that he had no interest in such a payout.
Countering Transnational Threats
Meanwhile, PS Interior Dr. Raymond Omollo will on Monday grace a significant workshop in Mombasa focused on Countering Transnational Threats on Lake Victoria.
The event will draw participants from Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania, aiming to address security and collaborative efforts on the shared water body.
FKF Premier League Continuation
The FKF Premier League match between Kakamega Homeboyz and Kariobangi Sharks is set to resume on Monday after being called off due to heavy rainfall in Mumias that rendered the pitch waterlogged.
The match, which was halted in the 58th minute, will resume with Kariobangi Sharks leading 1-0 courtesy of a goal from Ally Salum.
This is the second match to be affected match after Shabana-Posta Rangers was called off the match scheduled to take place at Gusii Stadium, was set to mark the first FKF Premier League game at the venue in 18 years.
However, it was abruptly called off after reports emerged that the referees refused to officiate, citing security concerns. The officials claimed that the number of security officers provided was insufficient to ensure their safety.
