Ruto’s tour in South Korea

As President William Ruto continues with his engagement in South Korea, eyes will be keen to see the deals that he will ink on Wednesday.

On Tuesday, June 4, 2024, he met Korea Exim Bank Chairman and President Yoon Hee-sung. The financial firm is funding many projects in Kenya, which Ruto said is a clear signal of the cordial and deep ties between the two countries.

The bank also signed a $238 million (KSh31 billion) financing agreement for the implementation of the Konza Digital Media City at the Konza Technopolis.

The technopolis is expected to provide an excellent digital media and entertainment platform for research and training at Kenya’s Silicon Savannah.

The dualling of the 78-km Machakos Junction-Emali Road, water supply infrastructure to Konza, and a vaccine production project are the other projects in the pipeline after the signing of the deal.
