Reactions

Reactions to President William Ruto’s meeting with youth on X Spaces are expected to dominate conversations today after the head of state announced a host of measures geared towards slashing government expenditure and curbing corruption.

Unsatisfactory remarks from different factions continue to overshadow the president’s largely reformatory speech where he promised among other things the dissolution of up to 47 state corporations, suspension of all non-essential travel for state officials, reduction of government advisers, and the suspension of the purchase of new vehicles for state officials for six months.

Critics have continued to fault Ruto’s conversational approach, calling it a hoax if not supported by immediate executive action and a show of goodwill from his administration.

Blackout

Kenya Power and Lighting Company has announced power outages set to affect parts of Narok, Uasin Gishu, and Siaya Counties on Saturday, July 6, 2024.

Africa Men’s 7s

Kenya Morans will be keen to improve on their first-leg performance when the second leg of the Africa Men’s 7s kicks off in Madagascar.

The Kenya 7s B team finished sixth in the first weekend of the two-legged tournament where neighbouring Uganda emerged winners.

Premier League side Sofapaka and National Super League outfit Naivas FC will battle out for an FKF PL slot for 2024/2025 when they clash in the first leg of the promotion play-off set for Police Sacco Stadium in a 3.00 pm fixture.
