Temporary water supply interruption to affect parts of Nairobi county
Nairobi Water, in collaboration with the Athi Water Works Development Agency (AWWDA), issued a notice on October 2, 2025, announcing a planned water supply interruption in several parts of Nairobi County.
The disruption, scheduled to facilitate the interconnection of the Kigoji–Gigli–Kabete water pipeline at the Gigiri Pumping Station and Reservoirs, will take place from Friday, October 3, 2025, at 6:00 am to Saturday, October 4, 2025, at 6:00 am.

According to Nairobi Water, the essential upgrade is aimed at enhancing water infrastructure across the city.
“Nairobi Water, in collaboration with the Athi Water Works Development Agency (AWWDA), wishes to inform its customers of a planned water supply interruption to facilitate the interconnection of the Kigoji-Gigli-Kabete water pipeline at the Gigiri Pumping Station and Reservoirs. This essential upgrade will occur from Friday, October 3, 2025, at 6:00 am to Saturday, October 4, 2025, at 6:00 am.”
Areas in Westlands, Kileleshwa and Valley Road
The utility noted that residents in Westlands and Lavington will be among those affected. Specific locations listed include Riverside, Chalbi Drive, Convent Drive, Gitanga Road, Kundé Road, Hedred, Mbazi, Masanduku, LeLogh Gardens, Ole Ndunde Road, Kingara Road, Riara Road, and their environs.
In Kileleshwa, areas to experience the interruption include Kardara Road, Gichugu Road, Mazeras Road, Mbooni Road, Othaya Road, Kaputei, Lakiipia Road, Githunguri, DD, St. George’s School, Tembereare, and surrounding estates.
The Mamlaka and Valley Road areas will also be impacted, including the University of Nairobi and customers served along the Mamlaka Line.

Kilimani, Dagoretti and Uthiru among affected areas
In Kilimani, the water disruption will extend to Arwings Kodhek Road from Chaka Road to Hurlingham, Hurlingham Shopping Centre, Milimani Andel Road, Kindaruma Road, Rose Avenue, Lower George Padmore Road, Daystar University, Denis Pritt Road, and Coptic Hospital.
Residents in Kawangware and Dagoretti will also be affected. Impacted areas include Lower Gitanga Road, parts of Kawangware, Sunset Estate, Sohli City Estates, Kagina, Kagondo, Muhuri Road, Upper Kabira, Mithonge, Kamwanyu, Kahoho Road, Ngina Road, Kikuyu Road, Wathaka, Ndwau Road, Upper Wathaka, Gachui, Kirigo, and Dagoretti Market.
“Kilimani: Arwings Kodhek Road (from Chaka Road to Hurtingham), Hurtingham Shopping Centre, Milimani Andel Road, Kindaruma Road, Rose Avenue, Lower George Padmore Road, Daystar University, Denis Pritt Road, Coptic Hospital, and environs.”
Additionally, Uthiru and Muthua residents, including Muchua Road, Mutego, Mutini, and Gatina, will experience the supply interruption.
Ngong Road, Upper Hill and Kibera to experience cut
Other affected areas include Ngong Road and Upper Hill, covering Bishop Magua, Kabarnet Road, parts of Joseph Kangethe Road, Muchai Drive from Ngong Road to Mbaruk Road, Jamhuri Estate, Upper Hill, Kenyatta National Hospital, KEMRI Offices, Highview 1 and 2, and Kenyatta Market.
In Kibera and Highrise, areas to be impacted include Makina, Karanja Road, Fort Jesus, Olympic, Kibera Kianda, parts of Gatweka, parts of Ayani, Kibera Mwembeni, Makongeni, Kwa DC, Lindi, KEMRI Flats on Magadi Way, and Highrise Estate.
Nairobi Water has advised customers in the affected estates to store sufficient water and use it sparingly during the maintenance period.
