Support me for marrying your daughter – DP Ruto asks Kakamega residents
Deputy President William Ruto now wants Kakamega residents to support his presidential bid for marrying their daughter.
Ruto who addressed a mammoth crowd at Likuyani told residents that owing to the fact that they are good neighbours and him being married to Rachael Ruto who hails from the region, they should vote for him next year’s poll.
“I have several home affairs to highlight, Likuyani people, this is where I got my wife Rachael and the Bible says that we should love our neighbours, if you corner me this time around then I will accuse you of abandoning me to God,” he said.
During his tour, Ruto hinted at working with Amani National Coalition (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi who hail from the region.
The second-in-command accused Mt Kenya Foundation leaders of taking Mudavadi in circles and failing to give him feedback after interviewing him in a hotel.
“They interviewed Mudavadi but failed to even give him results. You want him to work with Raila or with me?” he told locals.
Ruto who was on his first day tour in the region said that at least 10 western MPs are behind his candidature joining about 160 more across the country who he said have joined hands to form a national hustlers movement that he exuded confidence will clinch the presidency come August next year.
During the visit, local legislators urged voters to vote for him saying that ODM leader Raila Odinga had failed to transform the region despite being in government since the sealing of his handshake pact with President Uhuru Kenyatta.
