The International Women’s Day was marked globally on Tuesday March 8.
In Kenya, the Smart Applications International, a digital company, decided to recognise its female employees by sharing a cake. 
Harrison Mugo, the group Managing Director said the cake sharing was a special gesture to celebrate the company’s female workforce for their integral contribution to its growth.
“We are marking this day to celebrate our female colleagues, and to let them know they are treasured as part of the team that has made this company great,” he said while addressing staff at the company’s offices on International Life House at the heart of Nairobi City.
Mugo said the company, being an ICT entity, it was important to recognise the contribution of women to the growth of ICT in solving challenges in the modern world.
