Six members from Murang’a County Assembly have been barred from accessing the assembly’s premises for two weeks.

The MCAs are said to have travelled to the United Arab Emirates about two weeks ago.

County Assembly Speaker Nduati Kariuki said the move was just a precautionary measure to ensure the MCAs had not contracted coronavirus during their travel.

He urged the MCAs to voluntarily self-quarantine for 14 days. “Weare just being careful,” the Speaker said in a statement.

The Speaker (below) directed that committee meetings in hotels and other places outside the precincts of the assembly be suspended till further notice
