Sierra Leone President Julius Maada Bio mourns death of Raila Odinga

Sierra Leone President Julius Maada Bio has joined the rest of Africa in mourning the passing of Kenya’s former Prime Minister Raila Amolo Odinga, describing his death as a loss not only to Kenya but to the entire continent.

In his condolence message shared on his official X account on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, President Bio expressed solidarity with Kenyans and Raila’s family, noting that the late opposition leader’s legacy and influence went beyond national borders.

“My heartfelt condolences go out to the family and the people of Kenya on the passing of Raila Odinga. During this difficult time, I hope you find comfort in the support and sympathy from Sierra Leone and beyond,” he said.
