Cracks in bipartisan talk team
After reports that the National Dialogue Committee (NADCO) talks failed to kick off on Monday, September 11, eyes will be keen to see whether there will be a resumption on Tuesday.
Cracks are reported to have emerged after the Kenya Kwanza team received express instruction from one of the party leaders not to entertain talks on the audit of the August 22 polls.
One of the items in the National Dialogue is electoral justice and related matters, but it’s now a hot issue that could derail the talks involving the 2022 poll antagonists.
Harambee Stars in action
After beating Qatar in their last friendly match, Harambee Stars will be in action again on Tuesday as they host South Sudan at the Moi International Sports Complex in Kasarani.
Kenya are looking for a second straight victory, which they hope will boost their preparation levels for November’s World Cup qualifier.
Eyes will be on head coach Engin Firat to see whether he will stick with the starting lineup that he deployed against the 2022 hosts.

Morocco earthquake updates
With the death toll rising to 2,862, the earthquake that hit Morocco on Friday, September 8, 2023, is set to continue dominating global headlines.
According to the US Geological Survey, the magnitude 6.8 earthquake struck at a depth of nearly 26km (16 miles), and the depth was initially reported at about 18km.
Al Jazeera reports that the Moroccan authorities have declared three days of national mourning, with many left homeless following the country’s deadliest earthquake in more than 60 years.
Kim to meet Putin
North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin are expected to meet in Vladivostok, a far-eastern Russian city.
According to reports, the meeting would be part of ongoing discussions over weapons sales between the two post-Cold War allies.
Kim travelled to Vladivostok in his armoured train and will meet the Russian strongman in what will be their first meeting since 2019.
