Senate Majority Whip Wamatangi defects from Jubilee to UDA
Sunday 13th March, 2022 03:44 PM|
Kiambu County Senator Kimani Wamatangi has defected from President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee Party and joined Deputy President William Ruto’s United Democratic Alliance (UDA).
Wamatangi on Sunday joined the Kenya Kwanza team in Thika where he is expected to be received to UDA officially by the DP.
Wamatangi is the current Majority Chief Whip in the Senate having taken over the position from Murang’a Senator Irungu Kangata in February 2021.
Kangata was ousted from the position after writing a letter to President Uhuru claiming Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) was unpopular in the Mount Kenya region.
Former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo and Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria are also present at the Thika Kenya Kwanza rally.
