SDA prayer breakfast: Matiang’i calls on men to lead with faith, integrity
Former Interior Cabinet Secretary and presidential hopeful Fred Matiang’i joined men of faith at the Adventist Men Organisation (AMO) Prayer Breakfast held at the Lavington SDA Church on Sunday, October 5, 2025, where he emphasised the importance of integrity and faith in leadership.
The event, held under the theme “Show Yourself a Man – For God and Country”, brought together men from different walks of life for what Matiang’i called a reflection time.
“It was a deeply meaningful time of reflection, mentorship, and fellowship with men of faith,” Matiangi stated in a post.

In a post shared on his X account on Sunday, October 5, 2025, Matiang’i said the prayer breakfast served as a reminder of the core values that hold both family and the nation together.
“It reminded us of the importance of staying true to the values that strengthen both family and nation,” he said.

Message of faith and responsibility
Matiang’i’s message resonated with the prayer breakfast’s theme, a call for men to embrace moral courage, responsibility, and service both to God and to the country.
The Adventist Men Organisation (AMO), a wing of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, focuses on nurturing men to live up to Christian principles and lead by example in their homes, workplaces, and society.
For Matiang’i, the gathering offered a space not just for prayer but also for mentorship and unity among men of faith.
National renewal
While brief, Matiang’i’s message carried a tone of reflection and encouragement at a time when Kenya continues to grapple with questions around moral leadership and national values as well as issues related to spirituality.

His call for men to “stay true to values that strengthen both family and nation” fits within his consistent message of discipline, integrity, and service virtues he often linked to national development during his time in public office.
